Electronic Surveillance
Offenders are monitored through an electronic device attached to their body. The program is an alternative for all risk offenders, reserving jail space for more serious offenders. Release services are incorporated into this program.
The Electronic Surveillance Program provides an alternative way for the courts, or supervisory authority, to place persons needing restrictive control outside the jail. The program is based on the concept of "least restrictive sanction" and custody. Offenders residing in the "Community Corrections Program Center" may also qualify for release to this lesser form of custody using electronic surveillance as a release condition.
