Veterans services serves all Veterans, as well as widows and dependents of Veterans, in making application to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for benefits to which they may be entitled. Benefits include the following: service connected compensation nonservice connected pensions widow's benefits death benefits war veterans and widow's property tax exemption medical benefits education and insurance benefits home loan eligibility certificates discharge upgrades We also assist in making travel arrangements for veterans with appointments at the VA Medical centers in Portland and Walla Walla. We are at the Hermiston VFW Hall the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and at the Milton-Freewater American Legion Hall on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
