Sheriff Tillman D. Taylor "Til" Sheriff form 1902- 1920. Sheriff Taylor was shot and killed on July 25, 1920 during a jail break from the Umatilla County Jail.  A statue of Sheriff Taylor is located in Till Taylor Park Pendleton, Oregon.

Umatilla County Sheriff John Trumbo

Sheriff John TrumboSheriff John Trumbo’s law enforcement career spans 37 years. Thirty-three of those years have been with the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office. Before being elected Sheriff, Trumbo served as the Umatilla County Undersheriff for three and a half years. He was elected to the position of Sheriff in 1996. Trumbo is currently the Chairman of the Local Law Enforcement Administration Association for Umatilla and Morrow Counties, an executive board member of the Oregon State Sheriff’s AssociatioTrumbo with Horsen and Security Director for the Pendleton Round-Up Association and the CSEPP Governing Board. Trumbo is a past member of the Governor’s Meth Task Force, the Executive Board of the Governor’s Meth Task Force, and President of the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association. He and his wife Carol have two grown sons, and the proud grandparents to one grandson and a granddaughter. Trumbo was a recipient of the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association Medal of Valor in 1980
